Leaders Leadership Diagnostic Consultation

When leadership becomes harder to execute clearly under pressure, it is rarely just a strategy problem.

Founders and leaders often know what needs to happen. They are intelligent, capable and experienced. Yet they can still find themselves repeating the same patterns:

  • Difficult conversations being delayed or avoided

  • The same tensions resurfacing despite good intentions

  • Decisions becoming harder when pressure increases

  • Carrying too much responsibility instead of creating sustainable systems

  • Feeling that the business depends too heavily on their own energy and capacity

The challenge is not always a lack of knowledge.

Often, the missing piece is understanding what is driving the pattern underneath.

How it works

1. The Problem

You bring a current leadership challenge that you want to understand more clearly.

This might be a decision you are struggling with, a recurring team dynamic, a communication issue, a pattern you keep returning to, or a situation where you know something needs to change but you are unsure what is maintaining it.

2. The Facts

Together, we separate the facts of the situation from assumptions, interpretations and emotional reactions.

This creates clarity around what is actually happening, rather than responding only to the story your mind has created around the situation.

3. The Diagnostic

The diagnostic process is informed by affective and cognitive neuroscience, combined with almost a decade of therapeutic practice working with clients.

A key principle behind my work is that lasting change does not happen by focusing only on thoughts, only on emotions, or only on behaviour.

These systems continuously influence one another.

Affective neuroscience helps us understand the emotional systems of the brain and how unconscious emotional responses can shape our experience before we are even consciously aware of them. These emotional systems influence our nervous system, our sense of safety or threat, and the way we respond under pressure.

The conscious mind then interprets these internal signals, creating thoughts, explanations and decisions based on that experience.

This creates a continuous interaction:

Emotional brain → nervous system response → conscious interpretation → behaviour

By understanding this process, we can identify not only what you are doing, but why the pattern keeps repeating.

4. The Solution

Once we understand the pattern, we translate that understanding into practical changes.

This might involve identifying a different way to approach a conversation, creating clearer boundaries, changing decision-making processes, recognising automatic responses under pressure, or developing strategies that support more effective leadership.

The aim is not simply to solve the current situation.

The aim is to understand the mechanism behind it, so you can respond differently in the future.

5. The Output

By the end of the consultation, you will have:

  • A clearer understanding of the underlying pattern

  • A different perspective on the challenge you brought

  • Practical steps you can implement immediately

  • Greater awareness of how your thoughts, emotions, nervous system and behaviour interact under pressure.

After the session you will receive an email with the insights and the practical procotols you we discussed during the consultation, so you have everything in one place: organised and ready to use.
